This area is well known for having outstanding fishing for Walleye, Muskie, Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike and Lake Trout. Guest have caught Walleyes as big as 12 pounds with lots of good eaters available, Muskie over 50-inches get caught and released all summer, lots of 20-pound Pike get caught each year, Smallmouth Bass up to the 5-pound mark are common and Lake Trout grow to be giants as each year a few over 30 pounds get caught and released. Ellen Island Camp is located on an island in the north-end of the Famous Lady Evelyn Lake. Lady Evelyn Lake is well known for having the very best Walleye fishing in Northeastern Ontario yet receives very little fishing pressure because of its remote location. Not only will you catch high numbers of Walleyes, the average size Walleye is twice the size of most lakes farther north. Fishing for Northern Pike and Smallmouth Bass is also excellent. For the adventurous, there are lakes you can portage to with Lake Trout and Brook Trout.
